Clyde Pope Orr

Orr, Clyde Pope of Ladue, MO, born Nov. 19, 1919, passed away Feb. 5, 2007. Beloved husband (58 years) of M. Lorraine Orr (nee Peithmann); loving father of Judy (Carl) Miller, Randy (Jill) Orr, Kathy (Randy) Smith and Robert (Lisa) Orr; dear grandfather of Douglas and Kelsey Miller, Christopher and Lindsey Orr, Chelsea and Jason Orr; dear brother of the late Virginia Orr and Melba Guynes; dear brother-in‑law of Winona Peithmann and the late Ortheldo A. Peithmann; dear uncle of Margaret (Sam) Middeoni, Bill (Karen) Guynes Jr., Alice Marian (Greg) Kropp, Robert Peithmann, Bill (Lisa) Peithmann; dear great uncle, cousin and friend to many. Clyde received his BS degree from the University of Tennessee where he earned the Allen Prize in Mathematics and was a member of Tau Beta Pi (Engineering Honorary). He earned his masters degree in Chemical Engineering from Washington University in St. Louis, MO. He was a member of the ACS, AICHE, Alpha Chi Sigma and Tennessee Society. During W.W. II, Clyde served as a volunteer in the Coast Guard in Everett, MA. He ended his 45‑year career with Monsanto as VP, Technology for Enviro‑Chem Division. Clyde was a 50-year member of Webster Groves Presbyterian Church. He was a man of integrity and a faithful servant to Christ. He was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
