August 21st, 2017 Gregory William Kropp (table 22) died

Gregory William Kropp, born on Sept. 24, 1945, in Nebraska City, NE, who lived in Colonial Heights, VA, died on August 21, 2017, his 44th wedding day . He had married his wife Alice Marian Peithman, daughter of Ortheldo and Winona Peithmann (table 22), in 1973 on the wedding day of his parents-in-law. Greg had not been well for some time. His wife and two of their children with their partners were able to see Greg in hospital before he died of recently diagnosed Leukemia and Pneumonia at the Medical College of Virginia Hospital in Richmond, VA. We feel with his family.

 

COLONIAL HEIGHTS, Va. – Gregory William Kropp married Alice Marian Peithman on Aug. 21, 1973, in the Farmer City United Methodist Church. Greg died Monday, Aug. 21, 2017, at MCV hospital in Richmond, Va., on their 44th anniversary.

Greg was born Sept. 24, 1945, to Campbell Elliott Kropp and Eleanor Gregory Kropp of Nebraska City, Neb. Greg’s sister, Carolyn Kropp, lives in Denver, Colo.

Greg and Alice have three children, William Gregory Kropp (Tonya Kropp), Marian Alice Kropp (Jennifer Jackson) and Robert Warren Louis Kropp. The grandchildren are Miranda, Mikayla, Melody, Miles, Campbell and Lillian.

Greg attended the University of Nebraska and graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University, Richmond, Va., with a bachelor’s degree. Greg was a member of the U.S. Civil Service and worked for the Department of the Army for 37 years.

The Greg Kropp family are members of Second Presbyterian Church, 419 W. Washington St., Petersburg, VA 23803, where the memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Friday, Aug. 25, 2017, with a reception to follow in the church McIlwain Hall.

Memorials may be made to Second Presbyterian Church or to the charity of one’s choice. Burial will be private.
